A brand new theatrical poster just dropped for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant.
The terrifying new poster from 20th Century Fox depicts in stunning detail the Xenomorph surrounded by dead Engineers victims, along with what fans are speculating is a first look at the Queen.
The epic poster follows several minimalist designs released recently that sent a much more ominous and ambiguous message and doesn’t give much away. We know from the synopsis that Alien: Covenant is set after the events of Prometheus, and follows the crew of the Covenant as they land on what seems like an uncharted paradise. There the crew discover sentient AI David (Michael Fassbender), the lone survivor of the Prometheus expedition and the story, most predictably, takes a delightfully dark turn.
The first trailer for the new sci-fi horror hit late 2016, and left fans divided with its tone and narrative. Everything we’ve seen so far however suggests the franchise is returning to its dark, horror roots, as oppose to the sci-fi/thriller style of Prometheus. Ridley Scott has stated the film will address the origins of the beast, and would link into a third instalment that brings the entire series full circle with the original Alien.
Alien: Covenant is in theatres from 19th May and stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, and James Franco.
