Disney just gave us a massive teaser for their young Han Solo Star Wars spin-off.
Speaking at the University of Southern California, Disney CEO Bob Iger expanded on what we know about the movie, including a revelation about its leading man. Apparently our iconic hero wasn’t always known as Han Solo, and the new movie will explain how he got that name – and presumably reveal his birth name for the first time in the series.
He also confirmed the story would follow Han in his younger years, from 18-24, including the story of how he met Chewbacca, and how they acquired the infamous Millennium Falcon. Since previous movies have already referenced Solo winning the Falcon from Lando Calrissian (portrayed by Donald Glover in the new prequel) in a game of sabacc, it will be interesting to see how the movie expands on this.
Iger didn’t give too much more away, but with the young Han Solo film set to release 25th May 2018, we’ll likely get plenty more teasers before the end of the year. Until then, enjoy this ridiculously stylish on-set photo of the film’s unreasonably beautiful cast.
