Nintendo just aired a short Pokémon Direct, revealing three new releases for 3DS and Switch owners.
The conference included the news that Pokken Tournament DX will be released on Nintendo Switch. Much like the re-release of Mario Kart, the Switch version will include updated content and new features such as new playable Pokémon and 3-v-3 battles.
It was heavily speculated that we might see the rumoured ‘Pokémon Stars’ for Nintendo Switch, but unfortunately for fans Pokken was the only announcement for the popular hybrid.
For the 3DS, the biggest announcement was brand new versions of Sun and Moon. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon will include a greater variety of characters.
Finally, the game’s original sequels Gold and Silver will be released on virtual console for the DS. These titles will be compatible with Pokémon Bank and transfer, and may even be carried over into Ultra Sun and Moon.
Pokken Tournament DX and Pokemon Gold and Silver will be released 22nd September, with ultra versions of Sun and Moon following in November.
