Ninja Theory’s Hellblade gets Release Date and New Trailer

Ninja Theory’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrafice is coming to PS4 and PC on 8th August, at a price of £24.99/€29.99/$29.99.

The game, which is available now to pre-order, follows the journey of celtic warrior Senua as she embarks on a journey through a hellish underworld, much of it her own creation. Addressing mental health issues in a stylish psychological horror setting, Hellblade is an ambitious concept that hopes to deliver a modest AAA game to bridge the gap between the big releases and smaller, indie titles.

“Our aim is to bring back the mid-size game,” says Ninja Theory’s Dominic Matthews, via the Playstation Blog, “Hellblade is half the size of a AAA game, but sold at half the price. A price that we think is fair to both you and us.”

“Our hope is that if we make our Independent AAA work with Hellblade, other developers will follow, leading to a more creative and diverse gaming world for developers and players alike.”

The announcement also came with a brand new trailer, below,  that shows off some of the game’s astounding visuals.
